Welcome!

On February 8, 2014 the gallery “The Other Side of the River” was opened to the public. Inside, the walls are lined with pictures showing people and places from an earlier time. In addition, there are copies of old newspapers, business letterheads, and artifacts from the surrounding of artifacts.

A book signing was held that weekend to launch the picture book about Blacksburg and neighboring communities.  This book entitled “The Other Side of the River” was produced by Will Cobb and Bobby Gilmer Moss. Included in the new book are pictures of people, businesses, schools, and homes. Many of the pictures are of places that are no longer in existence.

The gallery and book were made possible by people willing to grant interviews and permit copies of pictures to be made. If you have an old pictures or artifacts which you would be willing to share, please contact Will Cobb at (864) 490-8949, or through mail at PO Box 204 Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The gallery is located at 111 North Shelby Street in downtown Blacksburg. It will be open every Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 and by special appointment. Please call Will to set up a time if you are unable to come on a Sunday. Come for a while and visit the past!
